10th Anniversary of Free Fun Friday’s
Summer is in and school is out. With that comes keeping our kids busy and enjoying more outdoor activities. Of course, we all need to be budget conscience but for some, extra money just isn’t there. Thankfully, Highland Street Foundation, one of the top ten Family Foundations in Massachusetts that supports students, children, and families most in need; partners with many local venues to make adventures within reach.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Free Fun Fridays with 100 venues participating in this statewide, signature program. The foundation’s $6.2 million investment in this summer program has enabled no-cost admission for more than 1.2 million people to the state’s art and cultural venues. Free Fun Fridays take place for 10 consecutive Fridays — beginning June 29 and continuing through August 31 this year.
The first Free Fun Friday venues are:

- MIT Museum, Cambridge
- Berkshire Theater Group, Pittsfield –You’re A Good Boy Charlie Brown
- Nantucket Whaling Museum
- The Mount-Edith Wharton’s House, Lenox
- Concord Museum
- Worcester Art Museum
- Clark Art Institute, Williamstown
- Children’s Museum in Easton
- Edward Gorey House, Yarmouth
Admission free for everyone. Times will vary among the venues so please check venue websites (each is linked for your convenience).
