ANASTASIA THE MUSICAL IS A RESURRECTION
The Autism Diva received tickets for the purpose of this review. As always all opinions are my own.
I remember first learning about Anastasia in 8th grade and watching a movie about the story of Anna Anderson and her claim to be the long last Anastasia. And of course, later the Fox Animation Studio version quickly became a favorite. In fact years later Once Upon a December was a song I sang my own children to sleep with.
The new musical ANASTASIA brings all that we love and know and adds a twist. I say it’s a resurrection of the beloved animated version as most of what we know is retained but many more elements have been seamlessly woven in. An expanded story, more songs, and even a ballet!
Anastasia is a journey in itself. A journey of the scenes. You will see amazing sets, gorgeous and dazzling costumes and have you leaving with your head and heart filled with song.
From the Tony Award®-winning creators of the Broadway classic Ragtime, this dazzling show transports us from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family.
