MilliporeSigma Brings the ‘Curiosity Cube™’ Tour to Boston Children’s Museum
Breakthroughs Begin With Curiosity
WHAT IS THE CURIOSITY CUBE?
Tomorrow’s scientific discoveries begin with the curiosity of the next generation of scientists. Our goal is to inspire curiosity throughout the US by bringing hands-on science to the masses. The Curiosity Cube is equipped with the latest technology. It provides a learning environment that allows visitors of all ages to become immersed in specific science topics-from learning about how DNA works to building a custom microbe using a 3D printer.
Closing the Gap between Today and Tomorrow. We believe that curiosity is the driving force behind human progress and development. And while the future poses many challenges and uncertainties, we’re convinced that curiosity can help mankind navigate its unchartered terrain with confidence and optimism.
MilliporeSigma’s Curiosity Cube™ is a sequential experience for visitors to learn more about the world on a microscopic level:
- Unraveling DNA – Visitors learn about the role of DNA and importance DNA plays in determining traits and characteristics. Visitors will extract their own DNA, which they keep, to see what DNA “looks like” to the naked eye.• Exploring the Brain – Visitors will learn about the functions on the brain and explore a human brain under a digital microscope and use gestural interface technology.• 3D Printing in Healthcare – Visitors will learn more about 3D printers and the importance of new technologies for scientific advancements.
Visitors will experience hands-on, interactive science lessons to spark their curiosity. All Curiosity CubeTM experiments are staffed by MilliporeSigma employees. This allows visitors to ask questions and discuss the possibilities of a future career in STEM.
