CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series & Crave RI
Since its inception in 1999, the CVS Health Charity Classic event series has donated more than $22 million to nonprofits across Southeastern New England with its professional golf tournament. The contest is held annually as a one-day, three-person team event. Each team is made up of one player from each of three Tours: PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions, and LPGA Tour. The top two scores at each hole for the team count towards the team’s final score.
But if golf is not your thing you can still help support this charity event with Crave RI. Crave RI is an annual food festival held at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The two-day food festival spotlights unique local culinary gems and restaurants all within the Ocean State.
“A visit to Providence is a must for those who want to enjoy some of the best cuisine and entertainment in the state,” says Mayor Jorge Elorza. “We are excited to host the Crave RI food festival that will allow families to experience all that our acclaimed local restaurants and chefs have to offer. I invite folks from across New England to come dine and support charitable organizations that do invaluable community work.”
My husband and I attended the event last year and it included many notable restaurants like Matunuck Oyster Bar, Salty Dog, Red Fin Crudo and more. Not to mention many beers and wine vendors. Tickets also sold out for both days the week of the event, so my advice is don’t delay in ordering yours.
Crave RI is a two-day event. Tickets are sold for Thursdays session or Fridays session. Both sessions will include live demonstrations and delicious bites from over 100 local restaurants. I do recommend checking the list for both days as some vendors are only at one of the nights while many are at both sessions.
All food and drink samples are provided at no charge and are included in the price if the ticket. You must be 21 and over to sample beer and wine and ID’s are checked. The event is family-friendly with children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult (limit 2 per ticketed adult).
