Free Outdoor Movies: Georgia

To watch a movie under the night sky is one of my families favorite things to do in the summer.  It’s relaxing and fun for everyone.  If your planning on visiting one of the many free outdoor screenings around Atlanta or even hosting a party at your own home; there some basic tips to keep everyone happy.

  1. Plan the movie ahead of time.  When the time and film is already set, no time is wasted on picking it out.
  2. Invite friends/family. We always enjoyed going with friends and having a picnic beforehand.
  3. And speaking of picnics, Bring Your Own Food for the screenings out.  Concessions can get pricey and this way you don’t need to worry about blocking someone’s view getting up or trying to find your spot.
  4. Your Spot-bring comfortable low back chairs or blankets to sit on.  An extra blanket to cover up with as the night cools is always welcomed.
  5. Bug Spray.  Being outside bugs are part of the picture and no one likes to be itchy.
  6. Special Treats.  We always hit the dollar store for some cheap glow/light up toys and being so cheap we even give some away to kids we meet.  Great way to make friends and you’re a star parent.
