Our latest family adventure took us to Knoxville. and the Holiday Inn Knoxville exceeded all of our expectations. A big thanks to the Holiday Inn Knoxville for hosting my family. I received a complimentary stay to help facilitate my review but as always, all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
About Holiday Inn Knoxville
I’m sure you heard the term that location is everything. Well, Holiday Inn Knoxville Downtown: Worlds Fair Park has that and more! The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions, including the Knoxville Museum of Art, historic Market Square, and the University of Tennessee. Holiday Inn is also next door to both the Convention Center and World’s Fair Park. This makes it the perfect place for both business and leisure travelers. And no, this is not the Holiday Inn your parents remember. Many have undergone major reservations and staff education to exceed their guest’s expectations. You can’t help but have a wonderful time.
Holiday Inn Knoxville Downtown Worlds Fair Park is steps away from many attractions and points of interest. We could see both the Knoxville Museum of Art, the Sunsphere and the Court of Flags Fountains right from our room. I loved our location. Being a tourist, we didn’t always know where we were going and having the option to walk and explore made it so much easier. Not to mention all the great local shops and stores. Historic Market Square is just a few blocks over and you could easily spend the whole day there with shops and food.
From the moment you check-in, everyone at Holiday Inn is ready to make sure you are happy. From the Greeter to Maintenance, everyone has a smile on their face and offers a friendly hello and asks is there anything they can get you? This high level of service is what you can expect with a perfect balance of comfort.
The kids and I took this trip with a friend and fellow blogger Tourist Mom. So with 3 kids and 2 adults, a little space would be needed and Holiday Inn delivered. We had a King Suite with a connecting double. Every suite comes with what they call living room with an adult sofa bed, a full bathroom, and a wet bar with a refrigerator and a microwave! So that gave us 3 rooms in total with 3 full bathrooms. And with 4 girls this was a wonderful luxury.
Everyone had plenty of space and the kids loved having the living room and tried to make it the ‘Kids Only’ space.
I also love how the rooms were decorated with photos of surrounding points of interest.
Amenities For Everyone
There are several amenities for all to take advantage of and enjoy. We stayed on the executive floor which comes with daily continental breakfast in the lounge on the executive floor. Mike was in charge of this service while we stayed and he was just wonderful. He made sure we always had what we wanted and that even the kids were happy. He would also go out of his way to make sure Lil Man was comfortable and always asked for a high five from him.
All Guests can also enjoy:
- Free Internet – Wireless Internet Available in Rooms, Suites, Business Center, Public Areas, and Meeting Spaces.
- Business Services – For those traveling on business, there is a 24-hour Business center.
- Complimentary Fitness Center – located on the second floor and features exercise bikes, treadmills, free weights, stability ball and more.
We were thrilled when we discovered Holiday Inn offered an indoor pool. We enjoyed the pool every single night! In fact, the kids spent 4hrs straight in the pool and would have stayed longer if not for the fact it was closing.
With glass windows from floor to ceiling, you can see some great sunrises or sunsets while relaxing or take in some views of downtown.
Dining at Holiday Inn
Window On The Park
Windon On The Park is definitely a restaurant you’ll want to dine at. The dining options and menu selection are outstanding and the service is top-notch! Their culinary team serves seasonally inspired dishes with a menu that includes meats, sandwiches and salad selections straight from the garden.
The decor is bright and inviting. The restaurant is surrounded by 10 ft windows overlooking World’s Fair Park and giving you great views.
Again, the staff was amazing. Our server was a current student at the University of Tennessee and I was just impressed with how polite and well versed this young man was. In fact, there was a little hiccup the night we had dinner where an accident on the street caused the power to go out and everyone was just wonderful handling the situation. The kitchen was still working hard to get dishes out and the staff was great at making alternate suggestions based on the lack of power and availability due to the power issue. I think everyone handled themselves professionally and genuinely cared about still giving their guests the best service possible.
Kids 12 and under eat free at the qualifying rate and all the choices are delicious.
Fairgrounds is a small quick-service breakfast counter down in the lobby level of the hotel. Perfect for when you just want to grab and go. They offer a large selection of Lattes, Mochas, Smoothies, Espressos along with bagels, muffins, sodas, juice, newspapers and sundry items.
No matter why you’re here, the staff will be sure you have a great care-free stay. Holiday Inn Knoxville was truly special and I would highly recommend Holiday Inn for all your getaway need.
