EBT Culture

EBT Card to Culture Celebration

The EBT Card to Culture program is a joint venture between the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and many of the best cultural institutions across the Commonwealth. EBT Card to Culture allows those receiving benefits from DTA to access museums, performances, and other cultural programming at a reduced or free cost.

All arts, humanities, and science organizations supported by the Mass Cultural Council are encouraged to be a part of this voluntary program. There are many working examples for museums, performing arts organizations, membership-based organizations, and schools. (For example, hear about Boston’s Children’s Museum’s experience with offering EBT card discounts.)

Each organization is different. In most instances, when you arrive at the museum, you should show your EBT card at the ticket counter and you will receive a discounted admission price. Other organizations suggest reserving tickets in advance. Make sure to look at the discount offered by each organization before visiting the location of your choice.

Join the EBT Card to Culture Program

EBT cardholders do not need to sign up in order to receive Card to Culture discounts. For more information about getting an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, visit the Department of Transitional Assistance’s website.

Organizations may sign up for the Card to Culture program quarterly. To offer a discount and be promoted during our FY19 (through June 30, 2019), sign up using this form by June 30, 2019

Organizations that want to participate during the Mass Cultural Council’s FY20 will need to sign up by June 30, 2019, with discounts going into effect July 1, 2019.
