New Hampshire is Open for Skiing Season

New Hampshire is Open for

Skiing Season

Bretton Woods ski area kicked off the 2017-18 winter season in New Hampshire on Friday, November 10, 2017. A major drop in temperatures earlier in the week allowed this ski area and many others to begin making snow after a warmer than average autumn.

Bretton Woods, which was open from 1-4 p.m. for opening day, is the first ski area in the Granite State to offer lift-serviced skiing and snowboarding this season. Guests who arrived at the resort with a canned good in for a food drive were issued a free lift ticket. The resort will close midweek and plans to reopen for the full season on Saturday, November 18.

Other Ski New Hampshire member resorts are also making snow as temperatures allow, including Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain Resort, Cranmore Mountain Resort, Gunstock Mountain Resort, Waterville Valley Resort, Mount Sunapee Resort, Ragged Mountain Resort, and McIntyre Ski Area. In fact, this is the earliest that McIntyre, located in Manchester, N.H. has ever been able to blow snow. Granite Gorge also plans to fire up the guns this coming week.
