Stone Mountain Park is planning to add an attraction in which thrill seekers can leap down to an inflatable air bag 20 feet below. The new attraction is adeptly named- The Jump! This is a thrilling, family-friendly, multi-level free fall drop experience.
The Jump is a new thrill attraction integrated into the current Sky Hike compound. Three different towers of 20, 15 and less than 10 feet, offer different levels of family thrills. Amateur stunt jumpers 44 inches (3’8”) and over, fall from their tower of choice onto a large, soft airbag below. Smaller adventurers, ages 2 to 6, can choose a more modest leap of less than 10 feet at a different facility near the Camp Highland section of the park.
“With heights from just a few feet to two stories tall, each of the three new jumping platforms offers a different challenge,” said Jeanine Jones, Stone Mountain spokeswoman. Jones says employees will teach each jumper how to properly land on the air bag. People will plummet from three levels (20 feet, 15 feet and less than 10 feet high) onto air bags, similar to a stunt professional.
My family is huge fans of Stone Mountain Park’s Camp Highland. I have seen my son make so much physical progress that even his Occupational Therapist love it. I can’t wait to see how Lil Man will do will this new adventure which is due to open in time for Spring Break.
