TOP BLOGGING CONFERENCES & WHY YOU SHOULD GO
There is no shortage of conferences out there. But when you add the cost of your ticket, transportation, hotel, and food; many just don’t see the benefit. So, why should you consider attending a blogging conference?
The Business of Blogging
First, let’s discuss your business. That is what your blog is. And as a business, you must treat it as such. That means investing in it. If you were an employee of a company you would be required to attend training/meetings as needed. Be it for new software, a new client, change in policies, etc. So why is your business any different? Truth is, it’s not.
If you are serious about growing your business and improving your craft, then you must continue to grow in knowledge. And at a conference, you are able to listen to and learn from the best of the best.
Here are my top reasons why you should attend a blogging conference:
So you’re away from the kids and staying at a beautiful hotel with a bunch of other bloggers. No bedtimes and no curfews. Time to party! Many conferences have a night of dancing and yes, even drinks. We work hard at our businesses and it’s nice to let loose and enjoy the fruits of labor once in a while.
Another perk is these too are usually sponsored, so be ready for some extra surprises and yes, swag!
Suggestion for Conference Dress
As an attendee, you will have a long day with lots of standing and lots of walking. Comfort is necessary as is looking professional. I like the term business casual. Comfortable but still presentable. As far as the shoes, well, I’m a flip-flop girl or at least dressy sandals. Those cute heels are nice but after an hour, your feet hurt!
